DOW Networks SA announces joint marketing agreement with VoipMagic

Johannesburg (Feb 3, 2007) –  DOW Networks and Voipmagic have announced a joint marketing agreement whereby DOW Networks will be offering Voice over IP services to the Voipmagic graduate base.

“We look at this as a value-added offering to our current graduates who can now not only install and maintain their Asterisk solutions but also use a trusted Asterisk service provider to manage voice traffic,” said Voipmagic MD, Gerrit Hurter.  “We selected DOW Networks for this because of the fact that they have been a ICASA licensed provider since 2005, they have over 5 years of experience in the international Voice over IP sector and as a company, they are dedicated to bringing service to South Africa as they have recently opened an office here in Johannesburg”.

Voipmagic realised that with the current slow progress in bringing experienced Asterisk service providers up to international standards and with high costs, SA businesses are at a disadvantage in the international arena.  “We therefore started a search for a reputable service provider that we can recommend to our graduates,” Hurter also said.

“We are very happy to be partnering with Voipmagic in this venture,” said DOW Networks CEO, David Wise.  “In coming to South Africa, we used Voipmagic to help us identify Asterisk technicians that could help with the many installations we had pending and were very impressed with their professionalism and the quality of the graduates that Voipmagic produced.  It then occurred to us, that many of the graduates were going to need an experienced service provider once they are up and running, and it made perfect sense to create this marriage.”

In addition to standard cost-saving Voice over IP services, DOW Networks also provides toll-free service from over 70 countries world-wide including the United Kingdom and IP-based PBXs utilizing Asterisk technology.

DOW Networks was incorporated in 2001 in Atlanta, Georgia and is privately held.  In addition to providing telecommunications service, the company also re-sells voice and data networking equipment and provides network engineering and consulting services.

Voipmagic provides Asterisk training in South Africa and other African countries.  For more information visit their website at
